Laura has taught a diverse group of students during her tenure, which has provided her with the opportunity to develop into the exceptional teacher and tutor she is today. Her first position was in a very diverse school in Niles. Her latest experience was at a high-performing school in Buffalo Grove.

Laura received her Bachelor's in Education from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. She earned her Master's degree from Roosevelt University.

Having taught for ten years, I have worked with a number of students with ADD and ADHD. I implement different strategies when working with children who have ADD and ADHD, to ensure their needs are being met. The success that these students attain while working with me is commendable.

I spent 10 years teaching Algebra 1 to a wide variety of student levels. For the past 7 years, I’ve tutored students in Algebra 1 & 2.

I have had my Elementary Education teaching certificate from the state of Illinois for 12 years. I taught sixth grade for three of those years, as well as third and fourth grades for two of those years. I am well-versed in elementary curriculum. I have also tutored a number of second, third, fourth, and fifth graders the past few years.

I taught middle school for ten years, which included teaching students how to effectively study for tests, how to manage their time, and how to take notes effectively. I also teach these skills and strategies to the students who I currently tutor. Knowing how to study, make outlines, take notes, and mange time are all important skills that students need in order to be successful. I incorporate these skills into my lessons with students.

I have played tennis for 25 years. This includes taking private and group lessons. I was a four-year Varsity tennis player in high school, qualifying for the state tournament during three of those years. I have taught tennis to small groups of kids for the past few years.

Patient and caring tutor!

The first day my daughter was meeting with Laura she was so nervous. But after her 1st session she quickly asked when she was going to seeing Laura again and that she was so nice! Laura helped my daughter to feel comfortable right away and I felt that she was a bit more confident in her skills by the end of summer. Her patience, caring, and calm demeanor made all the difference!
