I graduated from Illinois State University in May of 2013 magna cum laude with a major in Elementary Education. Along with my major, I am endorsed in reading, English, Social Sciences, and mathematics. I student taught in a multi-age 3rd and 4th grade classroom for a semester before graduating. I have a masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Western Governors University.

I have taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Reading/Writing/English for 12 years and 8th grade Pre-Algebra and Algebra for 1 year, so I feel I am well-rounded in the academic world and can help a variety of students in struggle areas. I have also taught RTI classes for students who struggle a little more and need that extra support to help them be successful.

As a teacher, everything I teach is meant to be connected to the Common Core standards. I try to find high-interest materials to align to these standards so students are interested in what they are learning.

I have had experience teaching students from 3rd grade up and have differentiated materials for students to ensure the success of each student while giving them confidence.
