Hello! My name is Brandon and I am currently a middle school math teacher. I graduated from Augustana College in 2019 with a degree in Math Education and am licensed to teach grades 6-12. I also received a Masters Degree in Educational Technology from Western Governors University. When I went to college, I had no idea what career I wanted to pursue, but all it took was one math class with an awesome professor and I was hooked. I started tutoring part-time in college while also going to schools to get experience in many different grade levels and school environments. I have tutored on and off for my whole career of being a teacher, but I am looking for a bit more consistency with Wyzant. I am passionate about math and am able to explain concepts in multiple ways with several different visuals to promote understanding and problem solving.
I did not always love math, but I know the difference a good teacher/tutor can make in a student's experience. I truly believe for students to buy into learning math, they have to have a positive experience learning it and that is what I try to provide for my students at school as well as the students I tutor.
