I am a theoretical physicist educated at MIT in Cambridge, MA. I have extensive teaching experience in physics at Wesleyan University, MIT, and Harvard University while a PhD student at MIT. My specialty is theoretical astrophysics with a deep interest in the theoretical structure and evolution of stellar objects ranging from conventional stars to neutron stars, white dwarfs, quark stars, and black holes. I plan on returning to MIT to finish writing and defending my PhD thesis on the age of the oldest stars in the universe.

I have been teaching physics for the past 20 years in both academia and as a private consultant and tutor. I can provide guidance in courses ranging from high school AP and introductory college physics up through undergraduate and graduate level quantum mechanics, quantum physics, classical dynamics, classical mechanics, statistical mechanics, electrodynamics, electromagnetism, fluid mechanics, fluid dynamics, astronomy, theoretical astrophysics, general relativity, cosmology, relativistic quantum field theory, quantum engineering, nuclear physics, particle physics, atomic physics, non-linear dynamics and chaos theory, and mathematical methods of physics.

I have engaged in physics and astrophysics research at MIT, Caltech, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), won a summer fellowship to the Sante Fe Institute (SFI), and have been invited twice to the Kavli Institute of Theoretical Physics (KITP).

I can also provide guidance for the intelligent and inquisitive layman reading current non-professional literature who desires intuitive, non-mathematical explanations of our physical universe from the quantum to the cosmological.

Please feel free to contact me anytime to share any thoughts you have with any of your physics courses. I will listen and offer a plan of assistance customized to your specific requirements.

Astronomy

Astronomy

I am a theoretical astrophysicist finishing my PhD in Physics at MIT. I have extensive teaching and research experience in astrophysics and astronomy. My research specialty is the theoretical elucidation of the birth, structure, evolution, and death of the stellar denizens of our mysterious universe. I have taught astrophysics and astronomy at while a graduate student at MIT from the beginning undergraduate to the advanced graduate level.
College Counseling

College Counseling

I have been awarded full PhD scholarships and fellowships in research and teaching( each worth over $500,000 in current value) in theoretical physics to MIT, Johns Hopkins and Brown University. I have been accepted at Caltech for undergraduate physics, the most competitive university in the world to gain admission to. I can provide professional counseling for college and university admission essay writing, application and admission strategy formulation, as well as provide crucial insights into what colleges are the best for you to apply to. I have taught at Wesleyan, Harvard and MIT at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Creative Writing

Creative Writing

I am a winner of NCTE National Council of Teachers of English award winner for creative writing. Letter of congratulations from Ohio Senator and Mercury astronaut John Glenn. Conan O’Brian also won this award.
Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical Engineering

As a theoretical physicist educated at MIT, my background in physics qualifies me to tutor students and professionals in difficult physics oriented topics encountered in mechanical engineering. These range from statics and dynamics, fluid and continuum mechanics, elasticity theory, aeronautical engineerings, to advanced topics in theoretical mechanics, Lagrangian and Hamiltonian dynamics, as well as mathematical methods of mechanical engineering, e.g. partial differential equations, Fourier analysis, dynamical systems analysis. I professionally consult for aerospace and mechanical engineers' intellectual property development with the world's most prestigious IP law firms. Clients include Space X.
Philosophy

Philosophy

Extensive knowledge of Western philosophy ranging from pre-Socratic cosmology to modern theories of mind.

Perceptive and greatly insightful teacher.

I'm not really sure if there is anyone on Wyzant, or even among any of the physics professors I've observed lecturing in top tier universities on YouTube who was even close to have broken down fundamental concepts to such explanatory and philosophical depth. Not taking any formal classes at the moment, I consider myself highly fortunate to have started to learn freshman-level classical mechanics without the hassle of a forced schedule, and incomparably more fortunate to have started with such thought-provoking introduction. Before even asking, Theodore was able to intuit answers to a number of questions in constant succession, and encourage exploration into more advanced topics, which I'm now greatly looking forward to learn in the future, being familiar with their relevance to the field of physics as a whole.

somewhat helpful

definitely knowledgeable about astronomy however, session was ended after 15min. i needed help with editing a paper and i did not believe he looked at materials sent beforehand because advice ran counter to the templates provided.

Knowledgeable and patient tutor

Dr. Theodore is very knowledgeable and gives detail explanations on complex definitions in Quantum Physics. He helped me to start preparing for my second test and we reviewed solutions to the Schrodinger equation with boundary conditions and Wavefunctions of quantum energy levels. Dr. Theodore uses Zoom, so remember to request permission to record the session, as this is not automatically as with the Wyzant app.
