Hello, I'm Julie. I am an experienced ESL/EFL teacher and art teacher.

I earned a BA in French and have studied many foreign languages. I also earned a certificate for Teaching English as a Foreign Language. I have experience teaching students from PreK through adult in the United States and abroad. I also have my own independent art business.

Re English/ESL, my knowledge of several foreign languages helps me anticipate the difficulties that ESL students may have and helps me more effectively teach them the skills that they need. I specialize in teaching students to read, spell, and pronounce English words and learn grammar and sentence structures in English. I have 5 years of teaching experience (adult ESL, French, and art; and PreK-5 art, bilingual ed, ESL/EFL, and general ed). I am a trained phonics instructor that has worked for a phonics instruction/reading company for the last 4.5 years.

Regarding art, I am a skilled freelance artist that can teach students to draw in pencil, charcoal, or chalk pastel.

I encourage and support students who work hard during tutoring and are motivated to succeed. Students are required to give at least 12 hours notice of any cancellations.
