Making a difference in the lives of children

Hello, I am Andria. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Kaplan University with straight A's. There, I obtained a BS degree in Early Childhood Education. I also attended the University of Phoenix and obtained my AA in Elementary Ed. I have been in the education field for over 20 years. However, as a young child, my Reading levels were always above normal and I was chosen to tutor other student's to help them achieve the same levels. I currently work with children who have Autism; grades K-3.

In essence, it is imperative to understand how the child develops in order to create lessons, activities, implement strategies, make the best informed decisions, and/or modify the lessons. As an educator, the children learning styles must be addressed in order to use this as a guide when teaching. When equipped with the proper tools, it enhances development, growth and learning. Impacting the lives of children is a reward that has no comparison to money!

Any educator should be a model for their student's to look up to, learn and excel from as well. Learning should always be fun because if a child does not understand, it is easy for them to struggle. With that being said, there should be qualified teachers to teach in any setting that will deliver effective instruction to ensure that no child is left behind. All students’ deserve a quality education and should be taught properly, effectively, and sufficiently. I will use my profession as a model and a guide to show and teach the students about reading in ways that they comprehend. In return, the students will model this knowledge when reading to their teachers, parents, and even peers.

I want a child to become so entangled in reading books that they will get lost in a world of words! I am open to any suggestions, comments, and/or questions. I am always available to reached.
