I am a PhD candidate in the English department at Northern Illinois University. I currently teach first and second level rhetoric and composition in the First Year Composition Program as a graduate teaching assistant. I have been teaching for two years in this program. Since writing does not occur in a vacuum, much of my course relies on one-on-one interactions with students in order to develop their writing.
Aside from my teaching, my research includes: film and literature, globalization, localization, multimedia studies, literature, and post-colonial literature and media. I enjoy tracing the cultural threads of various forms of media and their respective interpretations by different cultures, social groups, and demographics.
I have always looked forward to challenges. I see each of my students as a new challenge and take great pride in improving their skills, knowledge, and writing confidence. Teaching is a shared experience; both teacher and learner gain from the experience.
Feel free to contact me. I look forward to working with you.
