Hi! My name is Emilee, and I am a special education major with an elementary education endorsement at McKendree University. In addition to being a full-time college student, I work full-time as a paraprofessional in a K-4 special education classroom. I help students every day with reading, writing, math, communication, social skills, and building confidence in themselves as learners. Working directly with students has given me valuable, hands-on experience, supporting a wide range of learning styles and abilities.
I am passionate about helping students succeed by meeting them where they are and creating a positive, encouraging learning environment. I understand that every student learns differently, and I enjoy finding creative ways to make learning meaningful and engaging. Whether a student needs extra practice with academic skills, help staying organized, or simply someone who can explain concepts in a different way, I strive to provide patient, individualized support.
My goal as a tutor is not only to help students improve academically, but also help them gain confidence and develop a positive attitude towards learning. I believe that with the right support, encouragement, and strategies, every student can grow and reach their potential. I look forward to working with students and families to help make learning a successful and rewarding experience!
