Hey there! I’m a science honors (teacher selected top science student from 750 person graduating class of 2010) Maine South HS student. I received 5s on AP Chem, AP physics BC, AP calculus BC, AP Biology, AP government, AP comparative politics, and tested out of collegiate English core curriculum. I went on to be a UIUC Mech Engineering Major (3.8/4.0 GPA, 34 ACT and national merit scholarship recipient) who quickly sold out his engineering dreams for the world of trading and financial engineering. Out of college I went to work for CTC, LLC, a proprietary trading firm in Chicago that specializes in Options Market Making and other complex revenue generating strategies. I worked there for 8 years (2014-2022) and am now in the process of moving to a different firm, IMC.

In my professional career I have taken on roles managing 5-10 traders below me as well as coordinating the onboarding and development of over 30 team members. This work involved documentation of and development of coursework related to core strategies rooted in linear algebra, statistical analysis, and differential equations.

I have a strong STEM background and love to intuitively break down complex mathematical or scientific concepts in order to drive higher retention of material and improved applicability. I’m currently on a 1 year paid non compete while I move firms and I’m itching to put my time to use working with high potential students who have a specific STEM class in particular in mind, or who are craving some applications of scalable mathematics in the world of equities and their derivative instruments.

I can assist students in both mastering coursework assigned by their teachers as well as in cultivating custom education plans for the intellectually curious or less “teach-to-the-test”-motivated students.

All of the subjects listed here I have excelled in immensely personally and the concepts of algebra and calculus underpin all of the more complex mathematics used in my everyday work. Let’s jump into these and many other
