My background in education consists of three years of high school teaching, in the United States and Spain, as well as formal teacher-training to obtain licensure. In December of 2016, I received a K-12 Spanish Teaching License, with endorsements in Economics and Psychology. The variety of interdisciplinary coursework and endorsements reflects my commitment to constantly learn, and it embodies my willingness to foster well-rounded, creative learning environments for all students.

Both of my experiences - traveling and teaching - have provided me with a unique set of professional skills to bring to future classrooms. I believe my certifications, backgrounds, and endorsements reflect my willingness to scaffold teaching activities to students' levels of understanding. Teachers have the potential to inspire children to become effective communicators, and they can fulfill that obligation by effectively collaborating with colleagues and administrators to help each child reach his or her highest potential

As a native English speaker, it has been important for me to bolster my both teaching and communicative skills in Spanish; therefore, I have been spending the past two school years teaching English at a high school in Madrid. Other than developing Spanish proficiency, the exposure to a new educational system has made me become a more objective educator.
