Hello! My name is Elizabeth and I would love to tutor your student! I am certified in Elementary Education and I am endorsed to teach special education. After graduation I worked as an Instructional Assistant in special education for four years, providing one-on-one assistance for children with special needs and small group interventions with students in general education.

I have been a special education teacher since 2012, and I currently work for Schaumburg School District 54 in Illinois, servicing students with and without disabilities in Kindergarten-6th grades. Throughout my numerous positions as a special education teacher, I have worked with students of all elementary grades who do not have special needs as well as those who do. As such, I am prepared to teach a wide spectrum of learning styles, and hone in on what students need for them to succeed. In addition, I taught over Zoom during quarantine, so I am very proficient with online learning, if that is the route you wish to take. When it comes to specific subjects, I currently teach multiple levels of reading, math, and writing.

As far as my teaching style goes, I adapt to the needs of the student. I am prepared to adapt my style to what is most beneficial for the student, although I have found that incorporating manipulatives, visuals such as pictures, modeling, multi-sensory experiences, and opportunities to have fun while learning are the most engaging and beneficial for students. As you know your child best, I welcome any strategies and ideas that you have.

So, if you want a tutor who is experienced, engaging, creative, and knowledgeable, you want me. I look forward to working with you!
