I received my OG certification through a Master's degree program via Aurora University. My 15-month training was held at the Children’s Dyslexia Center in Lagrange, Il. My practicum included 100 hours of tutoring under direct supervision under my OG instructor. I am also trained in SWI (structed word inquiry) and methodology. During my practicum, I developed lesson plans and tutored my students using IMSE OG methodology. The practicum included 45 hours of classroom instruction, progress of monitoring data, complete assignments and required reading, in order to take exit exam upon completion of the practicum. This program is accredited program by IMSLEC and IDA. Please note that not all OG certifications are accredited by IMSLEC and IDA. Before my OG certification, I tutored students using the Barton program. I found my passion and pursued my OG certification.
