Bio

Teaching has always been my passion. From babysitting to leading summer camps, I have always enjoyed helping children learn. 

I received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with English as a Second Language (ESL) and Spanish endorsements. I also have a Master's degree in Reading.

I have been teaching elementary students for 9 years. I have taught Kindergarten through 5th grade students in the classroom. I love teaching young students and seeing them grow and succeed. My favorite part is when they have the "lightbulb" or "ah-ha" moment.

In addition to teaching, I have been tutoring Pre-K through 8th grade students since 2010 in a variety of subject areas including math, reading, writing, and Spanish.

As a l teacher and tutor, I love helping children learn, grow, and succeed. As your child's tutor, I will help them learn by creating a personalized plan based off their needs. We will work together to support your child's learning.

Encouraging and Patient

Kyla is a great tutor, I would highly recommend her. She has been working with my son Evan (2nd Grade) and he thoroughly enjoys it. Each session is one hour and Evan would be disappointed every time the session is over. She's encouraging and patient with him and you can see that she is genuinely is excited/happy when he understands or is able to solve a problem.

This is the first class we had with Kyla. She used pictures to illustrate the topics with my daughter. She is trying to build up the vocabularies for her so I think that's really helpful.
