Bonjour! My name is Angela Schultz, but my students just call me Madame. I have been a French teacher for over 20 years teaching levels 1-4 and AP. I am also certified in Spanish and have taught Spanish 1 and 2. My original degree is in French but was specialized in business and translation. When I went back to school to become a teacher, I had to have another specialization in French language and literature. So, I have taken almost all the French courses that Northern Illinois University has to offer. In high school, I was lucky enough to spend 6 weeks living with a French family near Paris, and I spent my sophomore year of college studying in the south of France. I also have a minor in Spanish and a master's degree in educational technology which allows me to create engaging virtual lessons.
I teach at a very diverse high school in the area, so I have a lot of experience working with all kinds of students at different levels and with different needs. I believe that treating students with respect and patience is essential for student achievement. I currently teach French 2 Honors, French 3, French 3 Honors, French 4 Honors, and AP French. I have been writing my own curriculum for each of these classes for the past 9 years. I think that one of my strengths is meeting students where they are to bring them to where they need to be.
