I am a recent college graduate from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with degrees in Chemistry and Bioengineering. I graduated with a 3.94 GPA and have a strong background in biology, chemistry, mathematics, and other STEM subjects. I also scored a 1550 on the SAT (800 Math, 750 Reading), so I am comfortable helping students prepare for standardized tests as well as their regular coursework. I am available to tutor students across a range of ages and ability levels, from elementary coursework through AP-level classes.

I have several years of tutoring experience, including two years as a paid tutor at Mathnasium, where I worked with K–12 students in mathematics and helped students at a wide range of ages and ability levels. I have also volunteered as a math and science tutor and have experience working with students one-on-one. These experiences taught me how to adapt my approach to each student's learning style and level of understanding. I focus on making difficult concepts easier to understand by breaking them into smaller steps, working through examples together, and then having students apply the concepts independently.

What I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing the moment when a concept finally clicks for a student. Every student learns differently, and I find it rewarding to figure out the explanation, example, or approach that makes a difficult idea fall into place. Whether a student needs help building a strong foundation, catching up in a challenging class, or preparing for an important exam, I tailor each session to their individual needs and work to build both their understanding and confidence.

Approved Subjects

ACT Math

ACT Math

I scored a 1550 on the SAT, including an 800 in Math, and have a strong academic background in mathematics and science through my college coursework in Bioengineering and Chemistry. I have two years of paid K–12 tutoring experience and focus on helping students understand the material while developing effective strategies for approaching standardized-test questions. I can help students strengthen their math and science skills, identify areas where they are losing points, and develop practical strategies for pacing, problem-solving, and test preparation. I tailor lessons to each student's current skill level and focus on building confidence through understanding and targeted practice.
Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I have 2 years of experience tutoring K–12 math at Mathnasium, along with additional volunteer tutoring and TA experience. I have a strong mathematics background from my Chemistry and Bioengineering degrees at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, while using my teaching experience to meet students where they’re at. I focus on building a strong understanding of algebraic concepts rather than memorizing procedures, adapting my explanations until concepts click and students gain confidence solving problems independently.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I have 2 years of experience tutoring K–12 math at Mathnasium, along with additional volunteer tutoring and TA experience. I have a strong mathematics background from my Chemistry and Bioengineering degrees at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, while using my teaching experience to meet students where they’re at. I focus on building a strong understanding of algebraic concepts rather than memorizing procedures, adapting my explanations until concepts click and students gain confidence solving problems independently.
Biology

Biology

I recently graduated with degrees in Bioengineering and Chemistry and have a strong background in biology through my college coursework and research experience. My academic and research work has covered areas including cell biology, molecular biology, genetics, physiology, and biomedical science. I have worked with biological systems and experimental data in research settings, giving me experience applying biological concepts beyond the classroom. I focus on helping students understand biological concepts and connections rather than relying solely on memorization.
Calculus

Calculus

I have a strong mathematics background, with coursework through Calculus II, Differential Equations, and Linear Algebra, earning A's throughout my college math coursework. I have experience tutoring students in mathematics and focus on breaking down challenging concepts into clear, intuitive steps rather than relying on memorization alone. I can help with calculus concepts, problem-solving strategies, homework, exam preparation, and identifying gaps in foundational knowledge. My goal is to help students understand not only how to solve a problem, but why the method works and when to use it.
Chemistry

Chemistry

I recently graduated with a degree in Chemistry and have a strong foundation in general, organic, and biological chemistry through my college coursework. I also served as a Chemistry teaching assistant, where I helped students understand course concepts and work through challenging problems. My research experience has given me additional experience applying chemistry and biochemistry concepts in a laboratory setting. I focus on breaking down complex concepts into clear, intuitive explanations and helping students understand the reasoning behind chemical principles rather than simply memorizing them.
Elementary Math

Elementary Math

I have 2 years of experience tutoring K–12 math at Mathnasium, along with additional volunteer tutoring and TA experience. I have a strong mathematics background and love working with students to meet them where they’re at and help them build confidence in their skills. I focus on developing a strong foundation in mathematical concepts rather than memorizing procedures, adapting my explanations until concepts click and students feel confident solving problems independently.
Physics

Physics

I have college-level coursework and credit in both Physics: Mechanics and Electricity & Magnetism, along with additional coursework in electrical circuits through an ECE course. I have also taken college-level Statics, giving me additional experience with mechanics, forces, equilibrium, and free-body diagrams. Combined with my Bioengineering and Chemistry background, I have a strong foundation in applying physics concepts to real-world engineering and scientific problems. I focus on helping students understand the underlying concepts and problem-solving process rather than simply memorizing equations.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

I have a great deal of higher level math experience, but greatly appreciate the value of the fundamentals. Having tutored ages K-12, I find that these are the building blocks that are integral for confidence and understanding in future math classes.
Precalculus

Precalculus

I have extensive math experience at the college level, but understand the importance of mastering the fundamentals. I’ve tutored K-12 for 4 years, including precalc!
SAT Math

SAT Math

I have 2 years of experience tutoring K–12 math at Mathnasium, along with additional volunteer tutoring and TA experience. I have a strong mathematics background from my Chemistry and Bioengineering degrees at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, while using my teaching experience to meet students where they’re at. I focus on building a strong understanding of algebraic concepts rather than memorizing procedures, adapting my explanations until concepts click and students gain confidence solving problems independently.
Statistics

Statistics

I have taken college-level coursework in both Statistics and Biostatistics as part of my Bioengineering and Chemistry education. My coursework has given me experience with statistical concepts, probability, data analysis, hypothesis testing, and interpreting statistical results. I have also applied statistical methods to biological and research data through my academic research experience. I focus on helping students understand the reasoning behind statistical methods rather than simply memorizing formulas.
