Hi! My name is Magdalena, and I’m a passionate educator with a strong background in middle school English Language Arts and English as a Second Language. I graduated magna cum laude from Illinois State University with a degree in Middle Level Education and endorsements in both ELA and ESL.

Over the past few years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with a wide range of students in public school settings—from 5th grade STEAM summer programs to junior high ESL and ELA classrooms. My experiences include being a student teacher, STEAM instructor, and roving substitute, where I adapted to various grade levels and supported students with diverse academic and language needs. These roles taught me how to create lessons that are both engaging and effective, always tailored to each learner’s strengths.

My lesson planning focuses on student voice, real-world connections, and differentiation. Whether I’m guiding a class through a novel or creating project-based activities tied to a book like The Wild Robot, I strive to make learning meaningful and memorable. I’ve also worked with standards-based grading, which allows students to continually reflect and grow.

What excites me most about tutoring is the chance to form one-on-one relationships and support students in a personalized way. I bring energy, flexibility, and a sincere commitment to helping learners build confidence and independence—skills that go beyond the classroom.
