Hi! I’m Megan. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Mathematics Education, and I’m beginning a Master’s program in Teaching Secondary Mathematics. I also hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois, which has helped me understand adolescent development, motivation, and how to support students who feel anxious or discouraged about math.
I’ve supported middle- and high-school students through substitute teaching, small-group work, and individual assistance in math classrooms. I enjoy breaking down complex ideas into simple, manageable steps and helping students build confidence through consistent practice. My approach emphasizes helping students understand the why behind the math so they can apply concepts independently — not just memorize procedures.
I tutor students in grades 6–12, including:
Pre-Algebra
Algebra 1
Geometry
Algebra 2
Pre-Calculus
I especially enjoy working with students who feel overwhelmed, have fallen behind, or need a calm and patient guide to help them get back on track. I am friendly, encouraging, and committed to meeting students where they are.
I offer weekday daytime availability, which is a great fit for homeschool families or students with flexible schedules. I’m happy to collaborate with your curriculum, review classwork, or create supplemental practice tailored to your needs. Please feel free to reach out with questions or to see if we might be a good match!
