I am an LBS1 certified special education teacher with a B S in Special Education from Northern Illinois University and a certificate in full stack web development through the University of Illinois at Chicago with Fullstack Academy. My background combines formal training in pedagogy, behavior supports, and differentiation with practical experience building real web applications using JavaScript, React, Node, and SQL.

I spent several years teaching in public schools as a case manager and classroom teacher for students with a wide range of learning needs. I have taught children and teens across upper elementary through high school in both small groups and larger classes, as well as in one to one settings. My approach is very student centered. I break big skills into smaller steps, use visual supports and real world examples, and check for understanding frequently so learners feel safe asking questions and trying again.

More recently I have been tutoring and teaching coding to adult learners and younger students online. I help beginners move from no experience to building their own projects by using live coding, guided practice, and clear feedback. Whether I am supporting a student with an IEP on study skills or walking a new developer through debugging a JavaScript error, my goal is always the same: meet them where they are, build their confidence, and make the process of learning feel clear and manageable.
