Bio

I am a retired Air Force officer with a lot of experience applying the physics I learned in college. While in the Air Force I was stationed at the Air Force Academy where I was an assistant professor of physics for three and a half years. I was also an exchange officer with the Royal Air Force teaching applied physics at their test pilot school for two years. I am a retired Air Force officer with a lot of experience applying the physics I learned in college. While in the Air Force I was stationed at the Air Force Academy where I was an assistant professor of physics for three and a half years. I was also an exchange officer with the Royal Air Force teaching applied physics at their test pilot school for two years. After I retired, I was hired by the Illinois Institute of Technology to teach undergraduate physics. I taught calculus-based introductory courses in mechanics and electricity & magnetism for 15 years before retiring a second time.

I really enjoyed the many one-on-one sessions with students the most. Tutoring allows me to do that exclusively. While lecturing was also my passion, the personal interactions are more rewarding. I had both Pfizer vaccinations back in March 2021 so I have no problem meeting in-person.

I have taught both regular and calculus-based physics to thousands of students over the years. I worked on stealth aircraft programs while stationed at the pentagon. I have a private aircraft rating as well as an instrument rating. I am a graduate of the British Test Pilot school. The bottom line: I have both a significant academic and applied physics background.

Goes at the pace of the student

Al is very knowledgeable and is able to explain at the pace of the student. He is working with my son for Physics and it helps take the assignments and understand the material.
