Data Analytics Major & Advanced Math Tutor – OSU Sophomore

I am currently a Data and Analytics major at The Ohio State University, a field I chose because I have always loved the intersection of statistics, math, and computer science. I just finished my freshman year on the Dean’s List for both semesters. Before college, I graduated high school with a 4.17 weighted GPA and received the Indian Prairie School District Scholar award. I also took several advanced math and tech courses, including AP Calculus BC, AP Statistics, and both AP Computer Science tracks, scoring a 4 or 5 on all the exams. Because I recently took these classes myself, the material is fresh in my mind, and I know exactly what it takes to master it.
Beyond my own studies, I have a lot of hands-on experience helping others understand math. Throughout all four years of high school, I volunteered as a tutor with an organization called OneInMath. Every Sunday during the school year and the summer, I taught 1.5-hour sessions in a classroom setting. I worked with kids of all ages and grade levels, focusing mostly on math and basic science. Managing a classroom taught me how to adapt to different learning styles and, most importantly, how to break down intimidating concepts so they make sense to a younger student.
I am really excited to join the Wyzant community and use what I have learned to help students succeed. My approach to tutoring is simple: I like to make math approachable and patient. Whether a student needs help building a strong foundation in basic math or is struggling with the complexities of AP-level calculus and statistics, my goal is to guide them step-by-step until it clicks.
