My academic background gave me a strong foundation in both the life sciences and quantitative reasoning, and I especially enjoy helping students build confidence in subjects that can initially feel overwhelming, like chemistry and math.
During college, I served as a Peer Mentor Leader in the Honors College, where I supported incoming students as they transitioned into rigorous coursework and college life. This experience taught me how important encouragement, structure, and patience are in helping students succeed - not just academically, but in how they see themselves as learners.
I began teaching General Chemistry in my sophomore year and continued as a Teaching Assistant for the remainder of my time in college. Through this, I gained extensive experience working closely with students in both structured classroom and one-on-one settings. Over time, I developed a strong understanding of how different students learn best and how to adjust explanations to meet them where they are, whether that means breaking down complex concepts step-by-step, using visual or real-world examples, or reinforcing foundational skills.
I have experience tutoring students of all ages and academic levels, with particular expertise in chemistry, biology, and math. My tutoring style is patient, approachable, and focused on building true understanding rather than memorization.
