Hi, my name is Natalie, and I have a Bachelor's in applied psychology and a minor in Spanish. I have been a tutor for over two and a half years, including students from middle school to undergraduate, and have tutored in group and one on one settings. I tutor in Spanish, psychology, statistics (including SPSS), and writing. In sessions, I tailor my tutoring style to each student to match their learning preferences and help them build independent learning strategies. I am passionate about learning, and I get excited helping students achieve their goals.
In college, I worked as a tutor for a writing center and helped students write emails, incorporate instructor feedback, improve essays, and advance their research writing abilities. Additionally, I helped students at the foundational level by working on grammar and vocabulary. I also tutored for the Honors College, helping students with psychology, statistics, and Spanish. I have helped students with research methods, basic and advanced statistics, and working with statistical programs such as SPSS. Students would also frequently come to me to help them prepare for psychology exams, navigate lab work, and understand lecture materials. Through earning my Spanish minor and tutoring peers in high school, I helped students learn verb tenses, improve Spanish writing abilities, and increase their abilities to listen and speak the language.
These experiences have prepared me to a tutor wide variety of students and help them become more confident in class, improve their grades, and learn independent learning strategies to use outside of sessions. I love to learn new things, and I understand how frustrating it is when you can't overcome learning barriers. I feel proud when it finally "clicks" in my students' minds, and I would be eager to help you reach your academic goals.
