As a current Georgia Tech Materials Science and Engineering student, I have spent the last two years learning and mastering general STEM courses and more in-depth materials science classes. My academic journey, supplemented by a minor in Applications of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, has provided me with a deep understanding of STEM subjects ranging from multivariable calculus to differential equations to chemistry and physics. My goal as a tutor is to break abstract theories into intuitive, manageable steps that students can apply.
My tutoring experience began in high school where I was a volunteer peer mentor, helping my fellow students with Algebra I, II, Precalculus, Calculus, and AP Physics. I have also tutored my younger sister and other relatives in basic mathematics and science topics. More recently at Georgia Tech, I train students and researchers on complex laboratory equipment as a Technical Officer. I am more than happy to work with students of all ages. Having maintained a high GPA in college while balancing leadership roles and research, I also incorporate organizational habits into my sessions to help students gain confidence beyond just the subject matter.
As I mentioned before, I focus on a "first-principles" approach. I ensure the fundamental logic is sound before moving into more complex problem-solving. Instead of telling students the answer I ask guided questions allowing them to arrive at the answer themselves. I am very flexible with my scheduling (but prefer remote) and am committed to providing a supportive environment where students feel comfortable.
