My name is Rohan, and I’m currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. I graduated from Neuqua Valley High School, where I was deeply involved in academics, music, and athletics. My background combines a strong foundation in STEM, particularly in mathematics and physics, with leadership experience in both educational and extracurricular settings. I’ve worked as a chess instructor at YMCA Chess Camp, where I developed and taught a curriculum tailored to students of varying ages and skill levels. I also served as a Sensei at Code Ninjas, where I helped students explore the basics of programming in a hands-on, supportive environment. In addition, I’ve provided one-on-one SAT prep tutoring, helping students boost their scores by focusing on both content and strategy. Some of my academic accomplishments include maintaining a 3.84 GPA and earning a place on the Dean's List at UIUC, as well as achieving a 1570 on the SAT and being recognized as a National Merit Scholarship Finalist.
I have experience working with middle school and high school students in both group/classroom settings as well as 1 on 1. I tailor my approach to fit each student's unique learning style and academic goals. My strengths lie in subjects like Math, Physics, Chemistry and SAT Prep. My tutoring approach emphasizes teaching students how to learn and think critically, rather than just providing answers. I guide them through the problem-solving process by breaking down complex concepts into understandable steps and encouraging independent thinking. My goal is to equip students with the tools they need to become confident, self-sufficient learners. Whether you're preparing for a big test or just looking to strengthen your math foundation, I'm here to help you grow, succeed, and enjoy the learning journey.
