Hi, my name is Juan Pedro. Thanks for spending time reading more about me and my tutoring practices.
I am from Leon, Spain. I studied Computer Science in Madrid (the capital of Spain) and moved to Chicago to live with my American wife. I complete my Bachelor Degree in 2015 at Northeastern Illinois University. I think that learning a new language is always a great challenge and the vision of a native speaker could be incredibly useful. Everybody tells me that I am very patient, friendly, and also funny. We together will identify the problem language areas and develop a common strategy to work on them.
In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities such as mountain biking and taking pictures in nature. (Another of my passions is photography). In addition, I am enthusiastic about picture retouching, using tools like Adobe Photoshop.
If you are interested in my tutoring services, please contact me with any questions. My first goal is to help you to feel confident and comfortable in your Spanish skills. Any concerns you might have, and any specific issues that should be considered would be the main subject of our lessons. Hi, my name is Juan Pedro. Juan made the process very easy and worked with our schedule. He was professional and my son looks forward to additional sessions with him. Highly recommended.
Juan Pedro is an excellent tutor. He has a pleasant personality and is always punctual. Above all, he is flexible regarding the content of our lessons. Sometimes I prefer a more structured and academically-oriented lesson. Sometimes I wish to spend most of the hour conversing about a variety of topics in Spanish. Juan Pedro has good instincts regarding letting me do what I feel like doing, and at my own pace.
I am a certified teacher with a Master of Arts in Teaching, and have taught foreign languages both in public schools and on a private basis as a tutor. I do feel that this gives me a definite edge in being able to critique a tutor's teaching skills. I can only say good things about Juan Pedro, and I always look forward to my lessons with him, which are both enjoyable and rewarding, as I see my Spanish skills improving on a weekly basis.
I would highly recommend Juan Pedro as a Spanish tutor. He is a native speaker and immediately makes you feel comfortable. If you don't understand something right away, he is very patient, grateful, and funny too! He is very timely as well. If you are struggling at all in your classes or just want a little more practice with Spanish, I would not hesitate to call Juan Pedro for help!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
