Hi! I’m Kisa, a Cornell University graduate and accepted medical student who loves helping students feel confident in science and studying. I majored in Human Biology, Health, and Society at Cornell, graduated on the Dean’s and President’s lists, and scored in the 90th percentile on the Biology and Biochemistry section of the MCAT.
I’ve tutored for over a year in subjects ranging from elementary science to AP Biology and biochemistry. I work with all types of learners and adapt my approach to fit each student. I use evidence-based study techniques like active recall and spaced repetition to make learning stick, not just for one test but for the long run.
My goal is to make complex topics simple and relatable while helping students develop strong study habits they can carry forward.
A typical tutoring session starts with a short question sheet where students list any concepts or problems they’d like to go over. That helps me prepare in advance so we can make the most of our time together. During the session, we’ll go through clear explanations, visual breakdowns, and interactive examples, and finish with time for review questions or open discussion. Every session is customized to fit each student’s needs and goals.
I come from a multicultural family, speak three languages, and currently work in a retina specialist clinic where I explain complex science in everyday terms. I also volunteer at a local middle school because I truly enjoy working with students and sharing my love for science.
Whether your goal is to master biology, strengthen study skills, or explore medicine, I’d love to help you get there.
