Hello! I'm Lydia. I have a master's degree in social work from Louisiana State University. I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois at Springfield. I passed the LMSW licensure test in 2021. I have been professionally tutoring since 2021, and found it to be a passion of mine.

I have experience working in grade schools, middle schools, and high schools as a paraprofessional, assisting students with learning disabilities. I have worked with students who have dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, ADHD, autism, anxiety, bipolar disorder, test anxiety, and cognitive impairment. I enjoy finding new ways to help others learn. I have professionally worked with students since 2016 and have learned several ways to help students stay engaged with the curriculum and learn the materials. I ran a study skills classroom for two years and taught students how to manage their time, create to-do lists, how to prioritize, and organizational skills.

My job is to help you learn and I will do so in any way I can. I'm easy to reach and will respond quickly. I am happy to answer any additional questions you have, and look forward to working with you!

LMSW Prep, Excellent Tutor!!!!

I cannot say enough good things about Lydia’s tutoring! I needed to prep for the ASWB LMSW exam and reached out to her a few months before the exam. She is very knowledgeable and patient with me as a learner! She also helped with my test anxiety and instilled confidence and explained any concept I was struggling with. Her communication was quick and very responsive to my needs for extra sessions or anything else. I just passed my exam today on the first try and I’m sure would not have happened without her! Because she is so reasonably priced, I scheduled more sessions which was so helpful throughout my studying process. She is worth way more than she charges, but I am glad she is reasonably priced for those of us who may not be able to afford her services otherwise! I highly recommend her 100%! You will not regret it.

Client

This was my first session with Lydia, and she was amazing! Because of my learning difference, she was able to break down each question in a way that was easy for me to understand. After every response I gave, she would ask what was going through my mind when I came up with that answer, which helped me reflect more deeply and made the session incredibly insightful.

Very patient and knowledgeable tutor!!!

I unfortunately failed my LMSW EXAM 2 times before and today I finally passed. They say 3rd times is a charm. I wouldn’t have gotten to this point without Lydia. She was the tutor that stood by my side since the beginning even when I needed a break from studying. She is an amazing tutor, that breaks down the content of the exam into sections that could easily be understood! The questions after each section was helpful in understanding the content but also understanding how questions were being asked since the ASWB is very strict. Also even I would ask questions Lydia helped me understand everything and even gave examples to help me fully understand the concept. Lydia’s response time was fast when a change in my schedule happened and her availability is very flexible. I went to job and had tutoring right after which was perfect. Again Lydia is highly recommended and a great tutor!!!!
