I hold a bachelor’s degree in mathematics with a minor in statistics from Northern Illinois University. After graduating, I began tutoring at Sauk Valley Community College, initially focusing on supporting students with disabilities. Over time, I expanded my expertise beyond mathematics to include chemistry and physics.
I have been tutoring at Sauk for over five years, working across a wide range of subjects offered by the college—from differential equations to introductory radiation technology. My primary areas of specialization are mathematics, chemistry, and physics at the college level.
My experience includes both in-person and virtual tutoring, as well as one-on-one and group sessions. I have also conducted hybrid (synchronous) sessions, teaching students both in the classroom and online simultaneously. In addition, I have organized and led review sessions for math and chemistry courses to help students prepare for exams.
I have collaborated closely with faculty, assisting in test creation and occasionally joining classes to support students during in-class work. I am skilled at explaining concepts in multiple ways to match different learning styles, helping students better understand challenging material.
I also have extensive experience working with students with disabilities, including the use of assistive technologies such as screen readers, Livescribe pens, and note-taking tools. Additionally, I guide students in using AI tools effectively and responsibly to support their academic success.
