I have a Master's degree in English literature from Indiana University and a Bachelor's in English from Knox College. I taught introductory English composition courses to freshmen as a graduate student at IU, where I also developed my own curricula and assignments. My students indicated that I was a tough but fair -- and always extremely present and supportive -- teacher.
I've also been a one-on-one tutor with the Northwestern Michigan Community College Writing Center, and an educator with the Institute for Reading Development, supporting preK-continuing ed level students. All told, I have 15+ years experience as an educator.
