Nina H.

Welcome! I am currently a student at Eastern Michigan University, where I am passionately pursuing a degree in English, Writing, and Literature. I received a four year academic scholarship and plan on pursuing graduate school once obtaining my Bachelor’s degree. What has meant most to me throughout my academic career is having a teacher who cares about my personal and scholastic success. My mission for your student is to engage them in interactive learning that is both enjoyable and effective. I specialize in understanding each student's unique educational needs, crafting personalized strategies that foster academic success. I have worked with students in both primary and secondary education as well as students with IEP’s and specific educational needs. I have tutored for and proctored the ACT and SAT as well. With a progressive approach to education, I am dedicated to nurturing a love for learning and helping students achieve their fullest potential.

I have worked as a Teacher’s Assistant in primary education classrooms that taught grammar, basic phonetics, vocabulary, and reading; I assisted students with their work given by their head teacher to ensure thorough comprehension and application skills. I have over 3+ years of experience in primary classrooms where my focus was English, but I also assisted in math and science. I have student taught in multiple Michigan county school districts in secondary English classrooms. I have over three years of experience in secondary English courses such as World Literature, AP Language and Composition, College Essay Writing, African American Literature, and Mechanics of Reading and Writing. I have two years of experience in early college course classrooms such as Speech and Debate, American Literature, and Creative Writing.
