After having nine children of my own and homeschooling many of them, I wanted to become a certified teacher. This desire was fueled in part because I had a few children of my own that learned differently and some of the teachers did not want to figure out what worked for them. I want to be the kind of teacher that can teach a child the way that they learn. That is the only way to be an effective teacher. I am currently in my senior year of classes to finish my degree in Early Childhood Education. I chose this age group because I feel that any learning difference should be detected prior to a child entering Kindergarten. I would like to tutor because I enjoy working one on one with children and want to see them succeed. I currently am a special education substitute working mostly at Scott Elementary and work with children that are Autistic. I believe every child is different and the way they learn is different, therefore the way I teach can be different in order to meet that individual child's need.
