Hi there! My name is Zakariya, and I'm currently a second-year medical student at Loyola University Chicago. I have a strong academic background in the sciences, with a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Nova Southeastern University and a Master of Arts in Medical Sciences from Loyola as well. Throughout my academic journey, I've developed a deep understanding of subjects like microbiology, immunology, biochemistry, and general biology - from the introductory level all the way to graduate coursework. I'm also well-prepared to tutor general chemistry at the undergraduate level. While I began tutoring in high school through Mathnasium, where I worked with elementary, middle and high school students. As such, I'm happy to tutor basic math and algebra for young students who need help building a strong foundation in those areas. I now specialize in premedical and life sciences. I enjoy helping students navigate these challenging but fascinating subjects.
My tutoring approach is centered on building genuine understanding - rather than just memorization - so that students can feel confident tackling problems in any context. I aim to meet each student where they are and tailor our sessions to match their learning style and goals. Whether you're preparing for a college exam, getting through a tough class, or a parent looking for math support for your child, I strive to create a supportive and engaging environment where asking questions is encouraged and learning feels manageable. I know from experience how overwhelming this type of material can be, and I'm here to make the learning process smoother and more rewarding.
I'm flexible with scheduling and happy to work with students looking to succeed. If you're looking for someone who is patient, detail-oriented, and genuinely invested in your success, I'd love to support you on your academic journey!
