I am a high school senior with a 4.7 GPA, a 35 ACT score, and perfect scores across eight AP classes. Beginning this summer, I will be attending Brigham Young University, where I plan to continue pursuing academic excellence and expanding my teaching experience. My strong academic background has allowed me to not only master challenging material myself, but also develop a clear, structured way of explaining concepts to others. Over the past two years, I have taught roughly twenty high school students in ACT preparation, helping them raise their scores through targeted strategies, personalized practice plans, and confidence-building instruction.
My tutoring style is patient, organized, and highly focused on understanding each studen's needs. When I work with a student, I take time to identify their strengths, gaps, and learning preferences, and I adapt my teaching so they can grasp even the most difficult topics. For ACT preparation specifically, I emphasize timing strategies, pattern recognition, question-type mastery, and efficient problem-solving approaches that I used myself to earn a top score. I break down complicated ideas into manageable steps and use clear reasoning to help students understand not just what the right answer is, but why it is correct.
Although I am still a student, my experience teaching peers and younger students has given me a strong sense of how to motivate learners, reduce test anxiety, and create a supportive environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I take professionalism seriously. I show up prepared, communicate clearly, and maintain high expectations for myself and the students I work with. My goal is always to help students build lasting confidence, improve their academic skills, and achieve results they can be proud of.
