Hi! My name is Adam. I have been obsessed with all types of history for my entire life. Along with being a history nerd, I am also a full blown music, art, movie, and book nerd. I got my bachelors degree from UIC and have spent time teaching social studies at Back of the Yards College Prep. Teaching is a passion for me and watching people make progress in a subject that they find difficult is the most rewarding thing! I find that everyone is able to be successful in any subject area with the right skills and a good attitude.

I have always been the person that my friends come to when they have questions about anything in the field of social studies and history. In high school I spent time tutoring friends for history tests because I was the only one that found the classes fascinating! Education should be fun, while there is always stress when it comes to grades and school, I believe that learning, getting good grades, and growing as a student can be an enjoyable activity when done in the right way.

My passion for history and social studies is something that at times I can contain. This subjects are fascinating and there is so much to learn from the past. Understanding how our governments work, what events have happened in the past and how hose events affect our present is crucial to becoming an engaged citizen. While content is important, gaining the necessary skills to obtain this knowledge is just as important. Critical thinking, analyzing documents, and sifting through information are all important to gaining a better understanding in the subject of social studies.
