I have worked in healthcare for 16.5 years. The first 8 I spent working as an EMT-B, CNA, medical assistant, research assistant for the nursing department, tutor for the nursing cohorts below me, and nurse extern while I earned my BSN. I have a BSN from Trinity Christian College that I earned in 2018 and then got my MSN in Nursing Leadership from Lewis University in 2023.

During my 8 years as a bedside nurse, I spent a year and a half on telemetry, a year and a half on progressive step down, and 4 years in emergency department. I have earned my BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, NIHSS, ECRN, and TNCC during that time. I am sitting for my PCCN at the end of this month.
I left bedside in March of 2025, and am currently at the same hospital system that I’ve been with since Feb 2020. I took a new role as a clinical nurse educator over 2 units Monday through Friday, aka Nursing Professional Development. My units are medical oncology and observation telemetry. I’ve been precepting MSN students, working with nursing students on my units, research projects, assisting with onboarding of newly hired RNs and CNAs, teaching classes and simulations for new hires, meeting with unit staff, and real time education on my units as well.
Teaching and tutoring is something I've done since before I became an RN, and it is 100% my passion and where I feel it's where I can make a difference in the lives of nurses and future nurses/students who are passionate about sharpening their critical thinking and patient care skills. I know my availability is limited, but that's just preferred hours as I work at the hospital during the week. I am open to other times per request. I am always available by phone and usually very responsive.
