¡Buenos días! Need assistance preparing for a presentational speaking or writing assignment for your Spanish class? Do you need a boost to level up your interpersonal writing or speaking? I can help! I am a 17 year veteran Spanish teacher at a high school in Roselle, Illinois. I currently teach AP Spanish Language and Culture and level 2 Spanish, but I have experience teaching all levels as well as community college coursework. I am a K-12 certified teacher with a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education from National Louis University.
I acquired the Spanish language when I lived in Bogotá Colombia as a foreign exchange student, and later I studied in both Spain and México. I am also a recent recipient of a Fulbright Distinguished Award in Teaching.
I believe in language acquisition through immersion, but I am also well versed in all grammatical structures and the cultural contexts expected by the College Board. However, in my experience students learn best when the material is both relevant and engaging. I often include games and personalized questions (PQA) to activate individualized pathways to learning. I currently offer study sessions with my students, and each one is designed to create a personal connection that facilitates learning for that student.
