I have 20 years experience as a certified classroom teacher, instructional coach, reading specialist and tutor. I bring deep expertise and a personalized approach for each student. I have worked as a tutor for 20 years for students Prek-12th grade and know that meaningful progress happens with an individualized approach. I have expertise in tutoring in the following areas-Phonics, Reading, Vocabulary, Writing as well as Study Skills. I have a Masters in Reading and I have worked as a Reading Specialist. As a Reading Specialist, I am highly skilled at assessing where a student is academically and identifying the specific strategies they need to move forward. Whether a student need tutoring with reading, writing , comprehension or organization, I design instruction that is explicit, structured using research based practices.

I believe that tutoring should be supportive and not stressful. I plan the sessions to be engaging and purposeful with good pacing. My tutoring approach begins with building a relationship and truly understanding how each student learns. I take the time to learn a child's strengths, interests, challenges and learning style so instruction can fit their particular needs. Building this foundation builds trust, confidence and a student desire to take academic risks -essential to growth.
I support students in developing skills while also empowering them with tools that they can use independently. Tutoring sessions are supportive, engaging and focused on long-term success, not just short term growth.
