I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago, a minor in Finance, and am currently pursuing an MBA in Business Analytics. My academic background gives me a strong foundation in mathematics, programming, problem-solving, and analytical thinking, as well as advanced skills in reading comprehension and writing.
I have several years of experience working with high school students, beginning while I was still in high school myself. During my own high school career, I completed 12 AP courses. I performed at a high level, which led classmates to seek my help in subjects such as algebra, pre-calculus, calculus, computer science, reading, and writing. Since then, I have continued tutoring students primarily in one-on-one settings, helping them improve academic performance, confidence, and study habits.
Through years of tutoring, I learned that students absorb information in very different ways. Early on, I realized that teaching students the way I learned was not always effective. As a result, I developed a student-centered approach that emphasizes mental visualization, pattern recognition, and step-by-step explanation tailored to each student’s learning style. I consistently check for understanding, encourage students to verbally confirm when they are ready to move forward, and adjust the pacing as needed to ensure mastery rather than memorization.
I have worked primarily with high school students, both online and at the library, tutoring math, computer science, reading, and writing in both academic support and advanced coursework contexts. My goal is not only to help students complete assignments or prepare for exams, but to help them understand the process behind the material so they can succeed independently.
