I bring over 25 years of experience in education, with a strong foundation in elementary instruction and leadership. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Shaw University and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Governors State University. I also hold a Type 75 administrative certification and have been selected for the CPS Principal Eligibility Pool. My background reflects a deep commitment to equity, instructional excellence, and developing strong academic foundations for all learners.
Throughout my career, I have served as a classroom teacher, STEM specialist, and instructional leader within Chicago Public Schools. I have worked with students across elementary grade levels, providing both whole-class instruction and small group or one-on-one support. My teaching approach emphasizes culturally responsive practices, differentiated instruction, and real-world application. I have also led professional development for teachers, coached instructional practices, and designed learning experiences that integrate technology and STEM to increase engagement and achievement.
As a tutor, I focus on building confidence, strengthening foundational skills, and helping students become independent learners. I have extensive experience supporting students in reading, writing, mathematics, and STEM, and I tailor my instruction to meet each student’s individual needs. My goal is not only to improve academic performance, but also to help students develop a strong sense of identity, capability, and purpose in their learning.
