I am a licensed elementary teacher and hold an Illinois principal license. My qualifications include a master’s degree in Educational Administration, a bachelor’s degree in Primary Education, and a diploma in Early Childhood Education. I hold an Illinois Professional Educator License for grades 1–6 and currently teach fifth-grade English Language Arts and Social Studies. My teaching experience spans Jamaica and the United States, and I previously operated a tutoring program for elementary students. I was recently recognized as Teacher of the Month and have earned an Excellent evaluation rating from school leadership.

I offer elementary math and English Language Arts tutoring. In math, I help students strengthen number sense, understand place value, practice addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, and work with fractions, decimals, and word problems. I use visual models, concrete examples, and step-by-step explanations to help students understand how and why a strategy works. In ELA, I support reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, spelling, and writing. Lessons include modeling, guided practice, and checks for understanding, with support tailored to each student’s needs.

My approach is patient, encouraging, and focused on building skills and confidence. I begin by identifying each student’s strengths and areas for growth, then plan lessons around clear, achievable goals. I provide opportunities for students to explain their thinking, ask questions, and practice independently with constructive feedback. I also value communication with parents so we can work together to support progress. I am available for online tutoring during evening hours, generally between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. Central Time.
