I love teaching. I have always found myself drawn to teaching. I decided to teach ESOL/ESL/EFL because I really wanted to help people to improve their English. I use a multi-sensory approach to how I teach. I like to help students to build themselves up to be confident in using English. I have worked with the Oakton Community College VITA ESL program for one year. I recently spent almost two years teaching in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, at an English language center. I love learning as much as I love teaching. I know how difficult and fun it can be to learn a new skill. I know the feeling of being nervous and unsure. I've been there. In this regard, I see myself more as a builder than a teacher, and my goal with every student I work with is to build their skills and their confidence in English. Aside from teaching, I have many other interests such as poetry, pottery, photography, cultural anthropology, Japanese culture and language, and travel. I do speak a little Japanese as well. If you have any questions for me, please feel free to send me a message.
