I received my doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh in evolutionary and developmental biology. My postdoctoral research focuses on topics in molecular biology, genetics, and philosophy of science (I work remotely for the University of Michigan).
I enjoy teaching and coaching, and I have been a tutor, instructor, lecturer, and mentor throughout my career. My style is friendly and calm, with a focus on understanding each student’s individual goals so that we can find the surest way to meet them.
STEM classes can sometimes feel intimidating, but grasping scientific concepts can also be very rewarding! My job as a tutor is NOT to try to cram a pile of facts into your brain as quickly as possible. Rather, my goal is to help students learn the logic and structure of the subject material, making it easier to remember the content of your class so that you can feel confident and do well.
If you are stressed, I am here to help!
