My name is Mia and my greatest passion is making music. I share this passion with others through perfomance and education and aim give to others what music has given me. I've been teaching all levels of clarinetists for over 7 years and just earned my Bachelor of Music in Clarinet Performance from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in 2020. I've studied with brilliant, renowned clarinetists from St. Louis, Israel, and London and have played with members of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra.
I approach music with a holistic view, practicing and teaching useful skills both on and off the clarinet such as efficient practice techniques, mindfulness, fitness, and more.
While I usually teach in-person, since the COVID-19 pandemic, I've worked hard to make use of online teaching to provide just as effective, engaging, and inspiring lessons. My goal is to provide students with the tools they need to be their own best teachers on and off the clarinet. To learn how to listen, think critically and creatively, and apply this to their music. I create specialized lessons and curriculum to best fit each student. Lesson materials include fundamental and technical exercises, etudes, and solo repertoire.
