Thank you for reading my biography. I have held several educational positions within the same district throughout my career. I was a middle school teacher in American history, government, and world history for eight years. I was then an elementary and middle school principal for two years. I have been a college prep American history, government, psychology, and sociology teacher for junior and senior level students for the last four years.
In addition to this, I live with my wife and my three children. We enjoy spending time with family, traveling, camping, hiking, and doing anything outdoors.
While I am new to the online tutoring experience, I have extensive experience tutoring students of all ages throughout my career and discipline.
I have taught writing at the middle school and high school level throughout my career. I currently teach writing and research in my college prep American history, psychology, and sociology classes. For more than a decade, I have been the local coordinator of our History Day program in coordination with the Illinois and National History Day programs. In that time, my program has had much success with students competing at the local, state, and national level while creating projects that include essays, slide shows, presentations, and exemplary thesis writing.
My undergraduate degree is in History/Social Studies education. With that, I have been a social studies teacher for more than ten years. I have taught students ranging from 6th-12th grades in world history, American history, psychology, sociology, and local/state/federal government.
I believe that my variety of experience uniquely qualifies me for this. In addition to my in person teaching career, I have extensive experience with helping students navigate online learning platforms such as Google Classroom.
