I am currently a high school teacher in a South suburb of Chicago, and I have worked in the same district for the last 15 years. I am licensed to teach Secondary Education, with endorsements in Mathematics and Business Computer Programming. Every year, I typically teach courses in Algebra and Geometry, as well as AP Computer Science (Programming in Java). In the past, I have also taught Probability and Statistics, and other computer programming courses, such as C, C++ and Web Programming.
Prior to becoming a teacher, I worked as a computer programmer for several companies. My specialty was designing and maintaining templates for database-driven websites. Over the span of three years, I gained my expertise in Java, and combined that with SQL, to extract relevant data from Microsoft SQLServer databases. I later went on to teach myself how ASP tags can be embedded into HTML pages to accomplish the same concept with Microsoft Access databases.

David helped my daughter with AP Computer Science (Java). He was very patient with her & encouraged her as she gained more confidence during the lesson. We definitely recommend working with David if you need help with Java!
David explained in depth the steps needed for proving congruent triangles, angles, and sides. Also worked on calculating supplementary and complimentary angles.
David is a great tutor. Prior to the initial session he asked sufficient questions to gain an understanding of my son's background, the specific content being taught and the areas in which he was struggling. When he arrived for the tutoring session he was prepared with different possible lessons which covered the same goal, yet were tiered in complexity. David was very professional and organized, yet his easy-going demeanor really made it easy for my son to feel comfortable working with him. It was enlightening to see that my son was understanding and enjoying math after just one session, considering that he had been adamant in refusing to even work with a tutor.
I've taught computer programming courses (C, C++, and Java) for 11 years at Oak Forest High School.
