My love of teaching and helping others succeed comes from my life long love of school and learning. I enjoy helping students learn and realize their potential. I started tutoring as a 10th grade high school student as part of service learning for the National Honor Society and I have been doing it ever since. Since high school, I have had the pleasure of tutoring high school students preparing for the ACT exam (all sections) and schoolwork in English, reading, math (algebra, pre calculus, geometry, trigonometry) and science (biology and chemistry). I recently tutored adult basic education and English as a Second Language. I graduated with my master's degree in Teaching English as a Second Language in 2018. I am currently a professor of ESL at a community college.
It is my wish to help students achieve the grades and scores that they desire and have a good time doing it so that schoolwork and studying does not seem like a chore. My main goal is to help students not only learn the information but to help them develop the skills that will help them succeed. I will offer a free consultation meeting to assess your goals and a plan of action. I do require a 24 hour cancellation notice but I am willing to make up lessons at a later date. I want to make this a positive experience for everyone so I do welcome feedback and suggestions.
