Hello! My name is Sabrina, and I am a mechanical engineering student at Harold Washington College in Chicago with a 3.867 GPA. I will be graduating with an associate of engineering science in May 2026.

I am located in Forest Park, IL and tutor elementary math, algebra, trigonometry, and the full calculus sequence (pre-calc, college 1, 2, and 3, AP calculus). I have experience tutoring elementary, middle, and high school students between 5th grade and 12th grade. With these students, I've had success in boosting their confidence, increasing their interest in math, and even helping students test into advanced courses. Beyond this, I have experience tutoring college level students in algebra and calculus (my personal favorite!) as well as current math teachers in need of brushing up on their calculus skills.

I always prep before meeting in the topic my student needs assistance with and can go through example problems, problem-solving tactics, and general material and proofs. My strongest subjects are trigonometry and calculus. I have a deep understanding of these topics and how to apply them in physics and engineering but have also tutored business and economics students in calculus.

I also hold a bachelor's degree in communications from DePaul University and worked professionally in the public relations industry for 6+ years before pivoting to STEM. My years of experience working in technical writing and corporate communications lends itself well to tutoring because I'm adept at mastering technical subject matter and breaking it down into more easily understood terms. My tutoring style is friendly, patient, and aimed at mastering problems and enhancing test-taking skills.

I can do one-on-one in-person tutoring sessions near me, or virtual tutoring sessions. I'm available for any questions or transcript requests, as needed!

Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I am an engineering student with algebra proficiency. I took algebra in high school and college algebra.
Calculus

Calculus

I'm an engineering student who's completed the college-level calculus sequence: calculus 1 (99%), calculus 2 (96%), and calculus 3 (99%). I continue to use these concepts in math classes and apply them in engineering physics courses. Calculus is my tutoring specialty, and I enjoy helping students to master and feel more confident in calculus topics.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

I am an engineering student with proficiency in algebra and use its concepts regularly.
Precalculus

Precalculus

I am an engineering student who has a great understanding of calculus principles. Precalculus is a lot of calculus 1 and trigonometry ideas, and I obtained an A in both of those college-level courses. I would feel confident assisting students in understanding these concepts.
Trigonometry

Trigonometry

I am an engineering student with a great background in Trig. I took precalculus in high school and trigonometry in college, receiving an A. I use trig concepts in my regular calculus and physics courses and personally love trigonometry. This is the course I feel most confident in tutoring.

Sabrina was so helpful!

Sabrina helped me with my Precalculus work for a bit more than an hour. Before her lesson I barely understood the unit, but afterwards I was up to speed with the rest of my class! She helped me with homework, worksheets, and test prep. She thoroughly explained concepts and why problems are solved in different ways. This really helped me understand the foundations of logarithms and made it much easier to solve moving forward! She's incredibly friendly and easy to talk to or ask questions. I highly recommend her as a tutor!

Patience and a Clear communicator

Sabrina helped my son with College Algebra. Math has always been a difficult subject for him to retain and do well in. He is a sophomore in college. He highly recommends Sabrina, and if needed, said he would use her for his College Calculus class next year. Sabrina is located in our community and set up weekly sessions at the local library. (He took the class online over the summer). Often, he would come home and comment, "She really helped explain something (or things) I have been struggling with." My son has received solid grades in the class and is optimistic he will do well on the upcoming comprehensive final.

Amazing tutor

Sabrina helped me with my Calculus 2 work problems. She is an amazing tutor and preps before meeting. We went over my midterm and she showed me where I went wrong in the problems. She even went out of her way to send me the way she did the problems I sent her to look back on. She did a great job explaining and really knows her stuff.

Great tutor

My daughter needs help with pre-calculus and Sabrina did an excellent job explaining the concepts. She reviewed the material before the tutoring session and explained the material to my daughter during the session. My daughter stated she did a great job explaining the concepts and is more confident about her math skills.
