Hi, I am currently a homemaker and a Missouri Certified Elementary Teacher looking to utilize my teaching skills. I have 5 years' teaching experience in a private, self-contained classroom with behavioral disorders and a year of teaching in a public setting. I have a passion for teaching/helping students acquire a strong foundation in phonics/reading. My lesson approach is to first assess the student's needs and to explicitly teach to those weakness with controlled text and word attack skills that builds confidence in the reader.
