I've been learning Japanese for 20 years myself, and teaching for almost 10! I'm someone who still loves anime, manga and video games, and enjoys incorporating references to different series to help make things make sense and help my students relax.
I've been told I have no accent, and am experienced working with several textbooks. I provide access to a commonly used one, Genki, and its workbook myself.

My favorite age group to teach is the middle/high school range, as that's when I started learning myself and I feel like kids of that age can grasp grammar concepts more easily.
I've helped lots of students pursue their passion to enjoy their hobbies more, I've taught American servicemen stationed in Japan to help navigate their lives there easier, and I've had the absolute honor of helping some Japanese-American children learn to speak their heritage language and connect to their family.
My degree is in Japanese, I've passed the JLPT N2 (the second highest level, which makes companies in Japan be willing to hire you as a foreigner), and have done a lot of tutoring online. I love to use Zoom, or even Discord, and screenshare the textbook. I try to be innovative and engaging, using some games and such to show my students real examples of what their language skills can do.
Above all else, I believe in teaching a language so that my students can actually use it. I prioritize being able to speak it, to navigate using it on a trip, perhaps... My own teacher was an incredible inspiration to me and always stressed the importance of actually practically using the language, rather than simply knowing all the rules without feeling confident speaking it.
If you want to actually USE Japanese, and don't want to have to be embarrassed about why you're interested in the language, please consider me. I'd be happy to teach you.
