I am an experienced instructor, public speaker, and literacy coach with 18 years of teaching English, reading, drama, art history, career development, public speaking, and speech communication. I currently serve as the reading specialist at Washington Elementary/Middle School in St. Louis. I have a bachelor's degree in communications, a master's degree in curriculum and instruction, and a master's as a K-12 reading specialist. I have coached many professionals on public speaking and presentation techniques, both in-person and online. I ran the Speech Center, taught career development classes, and worked with international students on American English pronunciation and grammar skills while at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Prior to beginning my teaching career, I worked as a professional actor and performed in both community and professional theater and live shows for 20 years.

I value tutoring and coaching that fits individual students' needs and learning styles. I believe that all students who really want to learn CAN learn, no matter what their struggles, and have had great success with that philosophy. I work closely with students to discover their strengths and their challenges, as only then can I be an effective tutor for them. This is true of students of all ages, from Kindergarten to senior citizen. Teaching is a part of me, and the greatest joy always comes from seeing the success of my students.

I have seen students have great success with this method.
